I am not new to tuning... though ALL of my experience is in DSMLink.

We just put my brothers 91 Eclipse GSX together. it has 2g mas, 650 FIC's ,190 walbro, 2g fpr, MHIevo III 16g, FMIC and an SAFC2 and Datalogger, AEM Uego Wideband and boost gauge.

I have read the guide and tried tuning in the baseline fuel trims.. though my fuel adjustments at the points dont really effect the fuel trims too much but they are all withing 10% of 100%.

Anyways so after i messed with that forever i set the Hi throttle points to the low throttle points for a base tune and took it up the road.

Well we set the boost to 12 pounds to start and take it for a rip and it to my surprise instead of being really rich we are really lean.. like a 17.0 A/f ... Immediately we let off the pedal and 0 out the hi throttle points... This brings us to around 15.9ish .. So i start pouring fuel in... Right now i am adding about 33% across the board from 3k and up to get the a/f to a 12.0 ...

at 12.0 on 12 lbs we dont have any knock so i know we are running safe...but we were hoping for about 19-20 pounds at an 11.0 tune.

This doesnt seem like its going to be possible being we will have the AFC MAXed getting us to around 11.0 on 12 lbs.

One thing worth mentioning is that the injectors, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, turbo, and wideband, were all on my 2g w/ dsmlink before i upgraded and on that car i was pulling 15-18 percent w/ dsmlink for fuel on 18 lbs to get me to 11.5 afr .... so I dont get it.

Any suggestions why i am having to throw so much fuel w/ the afc with this setup????

Thanks in advance..

nah not a boost leak.... that would make an overly rich condition anyways ...

The only thing i can think of is that maybe the fuel pump isnt set in quite right and not keeping the fuel pressure up or something being it was a 2g pump that i put in the 1g... I have a 1g pump now that i can replace it with so I'm going to try that and see what happens .... i guess it could be a dirty fuel filter or a bad FPR also though the FPR was on the 2g and worked just fine and theres not much that can go wrong with an FPR anyways ...

Oh well any other suggestions are welcome also...

weve been having this same problem but its only been at idle up to about 2k in low throttle having to add anywhere from 15-30% just to get around 13 afr's. everywhere else its fine and weve done multiple boost leak checks.

Are you sure the wideband is installed correctly or that the sensor is not obstructed in any way?

'Cause if the parts work, and with the SAFC zero'd out and you read waaaay lean... then something obviously isn't right.

If you just toss the stock 450's in does it run fine? That might be an easy way to cross out the injectors as the culprit, also could tell you if the WB is at fault if the car runs as it always did yet reads excessively lean.

Also, try using a logger and post up a log of this in action.
