sputtering, bad idle, and almost dies

i have a 1995 TSI, 109,000 miles

I've been having problems for the last month...its old so i expect its going to happen sooner than later...

what happened:

i took the car for a quick drive around the block, i noticed that the boost gauge wasn't working so i took it back home, popped the hood, the brake booster line came off the intake mani, so i put it back on and zip tied it tight, i started the car, it wouldn't idle as smooth as before, it would drop and almost die, took it for a drive again and its cutting out and sputtering really bad...if i don't give it gas it almost dies...

I've changed the spark plugs and did a boost leak test...nothing different...

i had a CEL...i re-setted the ECU and thought that might help but it didn't...it just cleared the CEL

i need help!

RESOLVED!!!

the honey comb in the MAS fell out

im just happy i found my problem!
