turbo a non turbo 1.8?

i have a 91 laser with a 1.8 liter motor can i put a turbo on it without alot of work or is it more work then it is worth i dont know that much about these cars so go easy on me

Putting a turbo on a 1.8 is almost useless, I suggest getting a turbo engine and swapping it in or just trading for a turbo.

how much work is it to swap a turbo motor in and will i have to get a new tranny?

you will have to get a new tranny (i do believe)...or better yet look for a motor tranny package.... you'll need a new wiring harness i do believe as well as a turbo ECU..... not too much work but enough to keep you busy for a weekend or 2
