Hello everyone. Well I have a pretty basic 97 GST. I just got done putting the engine and tranny back in and hookin everything up. Now the car idles fine and revs happily, but when I go to drive it the car wont go above 3000 rpms. I checked the TPS and the throttle adjustment and the IAC. Please any help would be benificial. Thank you everone for your time and best regards. Matt

sorry i forgot to mention that part. It hits a wall. i did a boost leak test and it will hold about 15psi. how long should it hold for until it leaks out?

well a guy that i just meant and knows a whole crap about dms's said that i have a vacum problem and my lifters are ticking excessively bad which might be throwing off my knock sensor and i advancing my timing really bad

Tell us more about the motor and tranny install. It didnt do this before right? Did you switch anything else. It you arent in gear can you rev higher? How much boost are you running?

ok well i got the car with a blown motor so i decided to get another one. i just got it put together and dropped it in with the tranny. my friend said it used to run fine. i think it blew cause he was over boosting with a stock fuel system. my other friend said he had bad fuel cut when he looked at the block. well back on track its not the CAS because its brand new. Also when it is in gear it doesnt even rev nearly as high when its in neutral. also its a big 16g with stock wastegat so its about 12psi im guesing.

I'm so lost trying to read your posts... or too tired to try. Anyway when you are driving and you give it gas can you hear the turbo spool then it bogs? From what you are describing it does sound like you popped an intercooler pipe. Go back, check all your hose clamps very very closely... I can't count the number of times I thought I Fk'd something up hardcore when it was just a IC pipe. I'm used to it now though...

Also when you rev in neutral does it rev freely? When crusing can you give it say, 25% throttle and rev past 3000rpms or does it still shudder? Like i said check ALL your intake piping and check for holes in the IC/Intake manifold etc etc.

its a 5 speed and i just completed a boost leak test and there are no leaks it will hold 15-20 psi
i did however find a dead lifter when i replaced them so im hoping my friend was right about the lifter throwing off the knock sensor.
also it didnt really rev to freely in neutral and in order to get it moving kinda good i could only give it very little throttle.
