thermostat housing

Is there a gasket that goes between the termostat housing and the head? I have 3 gasket kits and havn't found one that fits, should I just use some RTV?

The gasket is on the thermostat itself. It's a rubber seal

there is a gasket, but if you use a good sized bead of gray rtv you should be good! just give it time to set before you do anything else! (as in run the car)

Mine is metal to metal with just the rubber seal around the thermostat. No leaks

You better use the RIGHT STUFF sealant. Works great it is like silicone, but it doesn't get hard, seals great. Just put a nice bead, bolt it and you can drive right away.

Please re-read the first post. He's not asking about the seal between the t-stat housing and the water neck.

syrushcw - No gasket required. Permatex will work just fine.
