hey guys i just bought some gauges for my 95 talon but it says on the instructions i need to hook one of the wires to the ignition ... can some one send me or show me a page where i can c the wiring diagram of the ignition so i know what wire to tap for power ground and signal...thanx
:dsm:

The wire doesnt hook to the ignition itself. It hooks to a wire that has a switched 12v (only has power when the switch is in the on position). Most common places are the dimmer switch or cigarette lighter wiring.

But i thought that if i wired to the dimer guage then the guages lights would only go on when i turned on the lights. wht if they are black when the car is off but the lights need to be on all the time?

You can always hook them to the power wire for the Radio. That will get them turned on when the key is in the ACC and ON positions. This would be used for the power and ground. Then for the lights just hook them to part of the dimmer circuit.

I tapped power to the bulb in the gauges from one the wire going to the rear tailights, its located under the plastic panel by driver side. Ground the wire to one of the screws/bolt located on the left side under the dash. It turns on and off when you turn on headlights.

you can use any circut with key on power only to power the gauges, there are extra spaces in the interior fuse panel you can use. tap directly into it and make sure you fuse the wire feeding the gauges or you can surely use anyone of the others recomendations, all are vaild places for key on power.

Hook the wire up to a fuse in the fuse box under the dash by your feet on the left side of the car. Easy way, have one wire going to a fuse...then for multiple wires have them connect to the ONE wire going to the fuse. That way you don't need to have 3 or 4 wires running to a single fuse. Radio or antenna or windows are good fuses to use.

Here ya go:
RRE VDO Boost Gauge Installation Instructions

Since there install is for a boost guage specifically it doesnt have the specific info for the "ignition" wire. My suggestion would be to follow there instructions for the lighting half of your gauges. Then make sure to run your sender wire to an ignition source that holds power during cranking. The reason for this is that electric gauges (assuming this is what you have) calibrate when they are powered up. If that power is interrupted during cranking the gauges attempt to recalibrate. Unfortanetly now the engine is running and they are getting a signal. Making calibration impossible so your gauges will never be accurate.
