Hi all, sorry for a n00b post, but, doing a rebuild, the rebuild kit I'm getting has two options, Full lock-tabs, or Half and Half lock-tabs. I haven't torn this engine apart, nor, have i ever a 420a... but this isn't my first eclipse / engine rebuild. Just one where lock-tabs came into question..

I asked the seller of the kit, but all i got was..
"In order for me to explain the Lock tabs you would really have to call. Once you have your engine out and upside down your going to have to pull the rod caps to tell. "

this is the link to the kit.

any pictures, or explainations? Thanks...

bump ???

anyone help me with the lock tabs? There was one othe post on here asking the same question I did, and no one helped him either.

We absolutely do not bump threads on DSMtuners. I'm feeling particularly benevolent today, so I will answer your question before the thread is closed.

Model year '95 420a engine blocks used a main bearing with a funny partial notch in the end location. You can use '96+ bearings in a '95 block by just cutting the full notch into the block.
