Hello,
I am brand new to this forum today. I have a 91 non turbo talon and can only find turbo blocks. Will using a turbo block with a non turbo head affect my performance much?

I only use this car as my every day transport to and from work. Will I lose fuel economy?

Any help would be appreciated....

Jeff

All 1g heads are the same. Yes it will work and no you won't see any loss in performance or fuel economy. Are you looking for just a block or complete engine.

DSM2NR I think he means using a turbo block for his n/t not a turbo swap. And jdm motors aren't worth ish.

You are correct...

I can not find a non turbo block locally but have found turbo blocks.

My car is a non turbo and wish to keep it that way. I would be placing a turbo block mated to a non turbo head. I know the compression ratio is lower 8:1 on a turbo block compared to 9:1 on non turbo. (not sure of correct ratios) I just want to make sure I am not going to see poor performance and decreased fuel mileage.....

Are the n/t pistons bad? If not just swap them in to get the correct compression again. The turbo block uses oil squirters for the rotating assembly and a knock sensor. But down to it all if the pistons are bad and you get a turbo block just get a set of n/t pistons to swap in and you should be good to go.
