Sorry, I was looking at rotors, but what I needed were pads (hence the title). Got a little carried away, heh. Anyways, heres the proper link to some pads I found. The ones on there have worn and are squeaking, so its time for some replacements.

This thread did answer another question, though. Down the line i was thinking about getting some slotted rotors, and while i was at it, possibly upgrading to the bigger brakes of the later 1g eclipses. Might still do the big brake upgrade, but after hearing some opinions on those ebay rotors, I think ill just stick with some blanks, hehe.

Also, while im looking for maintenance parts, will a n/t K&N air filter fit onto a turbo MAF?

Don't get drilled, they tend to crack. [How often? Dunno]
Especially don't get eBay drilled, cause those used to be blanks before someone got out their drill press and took some pictures.

Why do you need new rotors? If yours are warped or something just get some Brembo blanks and if you really insist get them slotted, just not drilled.

If you're trying to upgrade, you're barking up the wrong tree.

^ Very sound advice and right along the same lines I would have worded it.

For a lot of us, the Brembo blanks will do wonders. Hell even going to your local parts store and picking up some blanks will be cheaper and better than those.

Personally I went with a Hi-Perf kit from VIPGarage (they have a sale going on right now) and I'm am extremely pleased. All for under $560 shipped as well. That included Metal Masters Pads, Slotted HP Centric Rotors, SS Goodrich Lines, and ATE Super Blue fluid. The kit may have changed a bit since I purchased mine, almost 2 years ago, but the difference in braking ability is night and day.

How well do these perform?
I was thinking about these rather than a big brake kit or stoptech ones.

I just went down to advance and got the best ceramic brakes they had. the were ceramicool, i beleive. they were only like 46 bucks. They have saved my ass a whole bunch of times, im really glad i got them. they stop soo good, so you could probly go the same route i did and will be fine. You could also get the calipers from a 93 and then get the ceramic brakes. the 93 calipers are 3 piston i think so. have fun man hope you find all the info you need.

please stay away from cheap, no name, ebay products when it comes to your brakes.

+1, of all the things to be cheap on, brakes are probably the worst decision. I see you have a '90, you might want to consider doing the factory big brake upgrade, that should give you a pretty big boost in performance without costing that much.

I have Brembo Drilled rotors for my fronts..they work great and never did I ever have to push the brake pedal further then the regular push when in the mountain nor overheated. keekeetz.

Don't get those..its ebay for cryin' out loud. Go for some EBC greenstuff pads or Hawks; they're good! No squeaky squeaky or dust on your rimz.

Cheap ebay rotors have the quality of your standard "oem replacement" because they just take the replacement rotors and drill them... of course, drilled rotors have the VERY RARE tendency to crack... especially if they are drilled wrong... the edges of the drill holes must be beveled (or "counter-sunk")... make sure you can see this in the pictures

Brembo cross-drilled are just drilled brembo blanks. The build quality of Brembo is much higher than average... so is the price

EBC makes the most affordable "performance" rotors that I know of and they're cadmium-plated... Ive been very happy with them. They aren't drilled, they're dimpled and slotted.

But the choice of rotors means very little... your choice of brake pads makes all the difference
You want the best pads? Get Hawk HP. They are quiet, have a hard bite, and almost no brake fade, with very little dust. They also last a long time.

The only step up from there is Hawk HP+ (hawk hp plus), they create more dust than the reg HP's and have a little less initial bite, but it's very difficult to get these pads to fade: Slowing down from 120 to a dead stop I could not smell the brakes. Slowing down from 140 to a dead stop I started smelling the brakes a little but they still worked great

Everyone swears by a certain brand but most racers I've known end up choosing Hawk... BTW, they aren't cheap... but they'll improve your braking much more than any rotors will

I like the EBC/Hawk combination, dollar-for-dollar I think it's impossible to beat

oh p.s. If you really want the ebay rotors, get them! just be sure to slap some Hawks on em

Well obviously it's night and day. But my stock 1pot system with stock lines fluid, pads, and rotors would fade after one hard stop, not to mention the pedal feel was horrible. Cold braking is much better than stock, and after they're warmed up, the pedal feel is amazing, and I have yet to fade them, even after some very hard driving, at least by my standards.

I've had the ebc green stuff before and thought that they dust like crazy after they break in. I hated them. Certainly better than those no-name ebay pads though. I'm sure they'll fade with one semi quick stop. I wouldn't expect much more from $12.

I just ordered some replacement front pads from RRE. I decided on Porterfield R4-S pads, based on some input from a number of members on my local forum who are/were track racing their cars. They are like $100/set, but will be a huge difference in performance. They are a street compound, so they don't have the heat resistance for track events, but will be great for some backroad fun in the mountains :)
