Ok i have the oppurtunity to trade my 1g auto awd for a 5 speed turbo tsi fwd ? Which would you do? Keep the awd or trade? Heres info on the cars. My car 1g auto has a fresh rebuilt motor by me. It still needs a ecu and a radiator. But it runs good . Sounds really good.
Now the fwd turbo has been rebuilt to recently. Its problem is it has had a 1.8 5 speed
axles and clucthes put in it and cluth flwheel ect. So its not going to hold up and will need changed back? It has a 255lph fuel pump already in it. and a eprom ecu. Im not sure what will all go and stay my 1g auto has a 14b turbo and an upgraded 7cm turbine housing. It has 450s as well . The 1g auto needs some body work but it has nice leather interior.
The fwd also needs a liltle body work. So i dunno. What do you think? thanks

I have a FWD and i would love to have a n AWD but im not too crazy about having an automatic. I would say that it would be foolish to trade your 4g63t AWD for a 1.8 FWD just for the transmission. If you really want a badass car, just put a 5 speed in your car.

i agree if you really want a 5spd, spend a few hundred bucks and some garage time and swap your awd auto to manual.

I would keep that Auto AWD and put a nice converter in it. That thing would be a beast on the street with a few mods. I have been consider swapping all my 5sp awd stuff over to a Auto awd setup.

If someone is willing to repair their manual car with the parts from a 1.8, what else were they willing to do? Keep your car, it's your baby and you know exactly how to take care of it.
