My power steering was whining really loud one really cold morning so i pulled into the garage before work to look at the fluid level. I popped the hood and under the reservoir there is a giant puddle of PS fluid. It looks like the fluid had backed up in the line and was running out the top of the reservoir and then down the sides of the reservoir. Any ideas on what could be happening?

Thanks for the quick reply...that's what i thought too but i checked the hoses for kinks or maybe a tear in one and i didn't find anything. I didn't take them off or anything but i looked with a maglight and felt around.

Didn`t notice in your profile . . . do you have a fmic? sometimes the p/s fluid gets too hot due to lack of the cooling tube (it`s removed to make room for the fmic) & will expand out of the reservoir cap.
