ok, i was pulling the head of my 92 gsx, its never been off before and im gonna have it all redone. was taking the bolts out and one of the original hex studs is stripped. WTF do i do??? it needs to come off and today is my only day off this week and i have to clue what to do here.......

You can try a couple of different things. One if you have a sears in your area go and see if you can get a bolt extractor set big enough to go over the head of the bolt. The other thing you can try is get a another hex socket that is one or two sizes bigger and hammer it in there then take the bolt out. You will probably ruin the socket but it should work. Give it a try and let us know. Travis

k....when i was at orielly buying the 10mil hex that was the biggest they had, so i'll run up there and order an 11 and see if they have any extractors....

If you can't find an 11mm, you could look for a 7/16". I know SAE sizes are easier to find than metric. The size diff is minimal.

11mm is .4331"
7/16 is .4375"

The other thing I have done successfully is to use a Torx head bit in a stripped out allen head. I have never done it on a bolt that big, so I am not sure if the star would dig in hard enough to hold it from spinning. Take an old one with you to match up the size. It should not fit by hand. I always smack it in with a hammer and it gouges into the bolt head slightly on the way in. You will be looking for a t-50 or bigger at least. I am not near my tool set right now to check the size, but that should point you in the right direction. Good Luck!
