Cold Engine or Tranny cutout.

Alright... I live in North Dakota, its December, and the average temperature is around -5 degrees. I know i'm an idiot for doing it but if i'm seriously rushed in the morning and just start my car and go (this is even with the block heater plugged in), at roughly 3k RPMs all power cuts out. the engine still goes but its like the tranny just stops working. When I shift @ 2k its fine but i'm just wondering if it's just that damn cold or if its something serious. Thanks.

How is your tranny in the summer? Most likely the trans just needs to be warm up.

its fine in the summer except for the usual DSM 2nd gear problem. I'm hopin it just needs to be warm. thanx for the reply
