Gave my new edition a health check. 90 4g63t. compression test was #1 160 #2 142 #3 155 #4 160, put some oil in #2 and it went to 155. I should be ok with that right? Spark plugs are autolite 63s, car is running lean. No check engine light. Took the air intake off the turbo since it appeared not to be boosting, I couldnt turn the fins with my finger.

General maintence will begin of course, new plugs? Could the turbo just be stuck and usable or is a new or rebuilt one needed?

Any suggestions would be great!

For the compression, It's close enough recheck in a couple hundred miles.

As for the Turbo, Can you say TOAST. IF you have a T25 or a 14B I would say replace it. There are enough for sale or upgrade to a bigger unit. If it's a T28 or 16G or larger then it falls into overhaul or replace.

That has to be your call.

Oil in the piston only helps diagnose the problem. It is not a fix. Check your compression again tomm. I bet it went back down.
As far as your turbo, its junk.
Spark plugs go to ngk's. Also change you oil,oil filter, air filter and your timing componets if you dont know when they were last replaced.
how do you know the car is running lean?
