If i have to look for parts on the CAPS mitsubishi software for a 91 eagle talon TSI, what year should i choose?

As i can't enter an eagle VIN on the CAPS program, if i want to order some parts for it i must order from a GSX that's equivalent. But as from 89-94 some parts do change from year to year i would like to know what year's GSX do correspond to a 91 talon TSI.
It's VIN is 4E3CT64U5ME104876

Any ideas?

I think your problem is the vin should be 4E3CS To make it a eclipse you change the E to an A so it would be 4A3CS. every thing else is the same.:thumb:

I hope that helps.

center peice on the headlights and the tail lights are the only differences i can think of at all

91 Talon TSi = 91 Eclipse GS-T
91 Talon TSi AWD = 91 Eclipse GSX

Straight across, for the 1Ga they're literally the exact same car, by model year. Some 90 parts are different than their 91 equivalent (mostly electrical and sensor crap, as well as the throttle body and cruise control), and some 92 parts are different. But within the same model year, the parts are interchangeable, down to the trim panels. In fact, if you're planning to drive through a redneck-heavy area and drive an Eclipse, it's simple to just swap on the Eagle Talon or Plymouth Laser trim panels and attract a little less of the 'ricer' reaction from people who don't know that DSMs are all technically domestics. On the 1Gb (92-94) the trim pieces are different on the rears (taillights/rear bumpers).

For a rebadge, along with the center bezels front and rear, there's the doorsill step-guards, steering wheel emblem inset, mudflaps (if so equipped, and yes, it was a dealer option, I found a set of Eclipse mudflaps at the junkyard), and the taillights differ in their style of painting. I've heard that the side skirt trim is slightly different, but I have seen no evidence of that yet. The Eclipse rear spoiler is a three-piece unit that follows the OEM body color, while Talons were black five-piece affairs. Lasers (as far as I've found) did not have a rear spoiler option available.

Tgmx1, that trick doesn't work :(

I'll explain it all.
I'll probably get a TSI AWD that isn't running right now just because of a broken CAS. It's from a lady and i'm very lucky because the repairing shop doesn't know how to get replacement parts for that car (remember i live in Spain)
So the lady is offering the car to me for just 1.500€ ($2100)
The car is in good shape, 95000miles but looks good.

If i get it i'll have to replace (besides from the CAS) some axle boot rubers and an O2 sensor.

The sticker on the door side says is a '91, but the weird thing is that the CAS is a black top just like the 93-94 one.

So the problem for example is that when you look for those axle boots on the CAPS, you end with a list of 6 or 7 choices, some say from 89-90, other 90-93, other 93-94, and also you can choose from GREEN or D-GREEN style, that's for the front ones. Then the rear ones you can choose from 89-91.06 and 91.06-94, pretty confusing.

So i would like to know the exact year and month i should look for.

If you need to replace the CAS, get a 93-94 black-top Hall effect CAS. The 91 in stock form still used an optical sensor, but the wiring harness connector for it is identical for the 91-94 model years. In fact, bolting up a 93-94 Hall CAS is a common fix for many idle misfire and boost misfire problem. So you can use them.

I'd suggest contacting Mitsubishi Graveyard rather than ordering new from Mitsu direct, as the cost of a brand new CAS from the dealer is ridiculous (well over $500 USD). They'll know what you want, and make sure you get the right part if you explain the situation. If you were in the US, I'd recommend hitting up a few pick-a-parts and scrounging for one; given that isn't an option, Mitsu Graveyard really is your best bet.
