There are 2 sensors mounted on the thermostat housing, 1 has 2 wires coming out of it, and the other has 2 hoses that both go into a T-fitting. What sensor is the one with hoses coming out of it? One of the hose fittings is broken off but my car seems to run fine and my gauge reads normal too

Is your car a Cali smog car? It's called a Thermo-Coupler. It's part of the exhaust gas recirculation setup and is just about completely useless. It adds a whole lot of extra vacuum tubes too. If you want to replace it, it's fairly cheap but really hard to get the old one off.

EDIT: Excuse me, that's actually for the Federal and Canada and the Haynes calls it Thermal Vacuum Valve.
