Well if your not having any idle problems you shouldnt do it.
It helps warm your car up faster on cold starts.
The fiav has wax inside of it when you first start the car the wax is hard so it lets more air through, this is why you idle higher on start up(so it warms up faster)Then when the coolant temps raise the wax melts and doesnt let air through.
