hey guys im building a fwd dsm with my quest for 11's it alrady has a 6bolt sway, its automatic with a shift kit, nitrous kit and a 50 trim....im trying to find out the limits of a stock intake i searched and really couldnt find any hard core facts on what they flow...im sure it want flow what i need so i search for the best performing intake and came to a link that doesnt work anymore.....does anybody know what intake i should use for around 500+ hp

In my experiences, the factory intake manifold becomes a large restriction around 400 WHP. You could try a sheet-metal intake from JM Fab, Magnus, or the likes. Or, being that you are spraying, I would recommend the Hawver from Punishment Racing. It's a performance cast aluminum manifold that will resist nitrous backfires much, much better than most SMIM's.

yea i have been looking at those and i see they use a mustang throttle body is there any kinda special modification or wiring that needs to be done when using that intake with a mustang throtle body

What's up man, this is... Kazoo from jxnunderground. In all reality I would try and figure out your engine managment that you are planning on going with. (I.E. Dsmlink, DSmap, Aem, etc.) The intake manifold will become a restriction, but I would make sure that your fuel supply and tuning abilites are up to par, before you ever worry about that. Look around and RESEARCH some.

but isnt that intake flanged for a 75mm throttle body...im sure the stock works fine but isnt that make kinda like a bottle neck for ## intake.....hey kazoo whats up mam naw im gonna be using dsm link as soon as i can find a ecu and send it to dsm link to have it socketed....i have done some tunning on my ecu but im sure that dsm link is different from cobb street tuner for the subaru anyway man pm me ## number maybe we could get together and disscuss some things im thinking about doing

Nope, no bottleneck. My IC piping is all 2.5", and my 1G TB is 2.5". Nothing in the intake tract necks down after the compressor outlet.

oh ok man thanks this has helped out alot also one more question im going with gm maf will i need the translator for it even if im using dsm link or will dsm link take the place of the translator...also where did u get ## intake i have looked at soom place and seeem kinda high just trying to find the best place

If you have a current version of DSMlink, you will need to have the translator box as well. But the new version of Link coming out (hopefully soon) should have a 'translator" built in, so you wont need the box. I'm not sure which "intake" you're refering to... My intake pipe was purchased from Stapl3 on this site. My intake manifold was purchased used on my local forum board for $400. Your best bet for a nice and affordable SMIM is to search the classifieds for a used JM Fab.

well i havent bout dsm link yet still waiting toi find a turbo ecu so i can send it to dsm link and have them socket it and set it up for my injectors....so im sure it will be the new version....thanks for the help man im sure i will have a ton more question to ask iff i cant find them through search also is there anybody on the board i can talk to that knows about fwd suspension setups for dragracing
