Ecu question?

Hey guys first off let me start by saying YAY IM BACK i just got another tsi awd. My question is that im missing my ecu, and i need one. The car is a 1990 and i need to know does a 89-94 turbo one work or strictly 1990. thanx

Don't know if they are interchangeable but i do not think so, I had a 93 and i also have a 90 and when my 90 ecu fried itself due to a bad ground i tried the 93 ecu the car ran, but it ran like crap, way rich stumbling all over the place. Any way I picked up a refurbed unit for the 90 from autozone for $199 plus core. And i havent had a problem since. Just my 2cents but i searched allover the net and the cheapest ecu was like 300 and up, and like i said the autozone unit hasn't given any problems and that was over two years ago.
