how fast do you go through spark plugs?

using BPR7ES for about a year now and my car seems to show signs of surging again, i had this problem last year and a new set of plugs fixed it, but i cant believe im needing new ones again so soon... Does the summer weather have any affect on them? Is 10-15K miles all they're good for? Am i using the wrong heat range for my setup?

Evo3 @ 19psi
50/50 meth injection
91 pump gas (not a mod but important to note)

Hmm i guess my 10K miles isnt so bad after all :). For you guys changing every other oil change or so, are you changing routinely or are you experiencing misfiring or surging before you do so?

about once a year or so.

My car see's mostly highway miles and only runs 10psi from a evo 3 (my girl drives it)

so i don't worry about them that much.

I still have the stock ones in my EVO and it is more then a year old with 20k on the od.

The other day. Out of stock on NGK's so I went with E3's at 7 bucks a plug. 8 miles down the road all 4 plugs had catastrophic meltdown! NOthing left of the bottom ends at all. Luckily no damage to the internals, they just blew to dust! Good thing too I have a butt load invested as I'm sure alot of you do. So please, STAY AWAY from E3 plugs!!!!!
Oh and I changed them due to a slight miss at full throttle. The NGK's gave me a good run of 1 year.

I still have problems understanding why people pay more for fancy plugs that don't work in our cars.

NGK plugs = $2/per + 5 minutes to install + meant for our cars.

Platinum (single electrode, dual electrode, quad electrode, etc) = $3-8/per + 5 minutes to install + NOT meant for our cars. They're meant for HIGH voltage ignition systems like the ones BMW uses, OR applications where it takes half a day to get at the two spark plugs under the firewall (almost any Chevy 350, most large vans, etc).

Iridium/Platinum/other rare Earth element plugs = Waste of money, not necessary. Iridium comes from asteroids. Do you really need spark plugs made from asteroids? Do you need to pay $10 PER plug? No.

For a newer car with a high voltage ignition system, especially those which come from the factory with platinum plugs, I always recommend staying with what the factory put in them. They apparently require the greater electrical resistance that platinum offers. For cars that came from the factory with copper plugs, I always recommend sticking with copper and staying away from platinum, especially in forced induction applications.

I have no problem changing my spark plugs every other oil change or so.

Are NGK's 4BPR6ES good for a non-turbo 4G63?? I heard someone talk about NGK's copper plugs being the best, but I don't know which are those.

Last set was from 05-07. Just changed them and the old ones still looked good. I just wanted new ones in there.
