I am looking into buying a PLX-300 or a PLX-R500 I need to know if anyone has ever used one of these units and can tell me a little more about them. How easy were they to install if they were user friendly that kind of stuff. If anyone has any other suggestions I am open to listen. Thank you for your help ahead of time. My mods are in my profile:dsm:

I have run the PLX-M300 for a couple years now & it works great. Easy to install & I have the 1-5v output hooked into my ecu so I can log it with my DSMLink, which makes tuning a breeze. I think most of the WB's out there now are all pretty descent & it pretty much comes down to which gauge/display style you want as most offer the same features & use the same sensor.

how did you wire the wideband into your ecu?

^^ what about for a 1g that has no rear o2 sensor wire?
Ok, I can't speak for any other models but as far as the PLX sm-afr; it has narrowband and wideband outputs. Using the wideband input it would give the ecu a simulated narrowband input. If you use it with the gauge (dm-5) you could cut and spice into the o2 sensor line for the ecu and then just use the gauge for wb monitoring. As far as what to do with a 1g and dsmlink... not really sure, need to ask those guys over at the link forums.

yeah screw that over priced dsm link, I didn't ask about that thing. I'm a computer "hacker" and I will be purchasing an ostrich emulator and programming my eprom myself.

I am going to be using an lc-1.... because it's cheap and functional. I don't need to "see" what my afr is all the time as I will be setting up alarms in the car to alert me if there is an issue. Not trying to make my car a target for people to steal or break my windows out because they see some "sweet ass gauges".

Zeitronix WB, with display. Shows AF, lambda, EGT, and Boost. Peak Hold feature, and is compatible with Pocketlogger.

For 1's the egr-temp (pin 15) is the best place to connect a wideband for datalogging, unless you have a PLX wideband. The egr-temp circuit and the PLX don't get along very well, and the displayed A/F ratio won't be accurate in the datalog.
