i got and installed a Kaaz LSD on my 95 Eclipse GST with a 1G engine (already had coilover kit) about 4-6 months ago. since then, i have had nothing but leaking driver's side seals left and right. the stock diff had no prob and didnt leak but once i put in the Kaaz, it began leaking. sent back the Kaaz and they said there was nothing wrong with it. now they are sending it back saying it may be the coilovers. has anybody ever heard of this? im hoping that this IS the problem so that i dont have to tear apart my tranny again after putting it all together and in the car again.

Your coilovers should not be causing this. Where is your leak coming from? Where the drive shafts meet the rubber seals on the outside of the diff? Or from some other location? If it's around the rubber seals I'd ask myself these questions:

When was the last time you replaced and/or physically checked the rubber seals that your drive shafts connect to? If they're old, chances are they don't seal very well anymore. Also, are you sure that you have your drive shafts completely inserted into the diff? The only reason I ask, is because sometimes the driveshafts need one last little nudge to be completely inserted.

If it's not from the rubber seals, you might have a crack in your diff casing, or there might not be an adequate seal where the case is bolted together.

its coming from the seal, leaking from the innner part. it gets the inner lip ripped off. the seals are brand new and have been replaced at least 3 times so they are not old. and i know the diff goes all the way in because it snaps in. i dont understand what it could be.. there is a little bit of play on the shaft from side to side when it goes into the kaaz diff but kaaz said that the kaaz needs it. the stock diff fits in snug with no play.

Coil overs causing driveshaft seal leaks...bull!

How is the mating surface of the drive shaft? Any ridges you can catch with your finger nail on? The shaft could be dinged up were the seal rides and wearing out the seals.

Are the seals installed perfectly flush?

the surface seems perfect, no ridges or beat up spots... the seals ARE installed perfectly flush with the transfer case... im going to see about checking the surface with a magnifying glass or something, but i dont know what it could be.

If you possibly can, take out the shafts and snap a couple detailed pics of the ends of the shafts as well as a couple of detailed shots of the seals that are currently in, as well as the previously destroyed seals. Then post those pics here.
