I usually check all the tech articles/vfaq and relevant posts, but I could not find any specifically for the FWD guys.
I have changed the transmission fluid on my AWD no problem, since there are several topics/guides specifically for them. Most notable:
http://www.vfaq.com/mods/wayback/BradBauer/drivetrain/trannyoils.html
However, I was assisting my uncle change his tranny fluid on his GS-T, and as I go to use the standard 24mm socket that I had just used on my GSX, I notice that the drain plug on the FWD tranny is in a different location, and is being blocked by what looks like a suspension component. There is no way the socket will go on and give me enough clearance for the ratchet.
If I had a 24mm combo wrench it would work out, but those things are not too common at auto/hardware stores. We have looked at a few and no one carries it. (Have yet to check NAPA). It looks like a standard 15/16 size wrench is of similar size, but I don't want to risk stripping the drain bolt.
Is that the only way to do it, or is there a simpler way to make room for the tools I already have to work?
