my power steering was leaking all over my alternator  and so i picked a new ps pump and new alt.
i plan on installing them myself where should i start ?

Start with disconnecting the battery so you dont ground anything out when you start to mess with the alternator. Then pull the driver side fan so you have room to work on things. Pull the power steering pump first so you then have more room to do the alternator while the pump is out.

Just that if you dont want to take the chance of messing up the fins on the radiator you should remove it. You have enough clearance to do everything without hitting it but ive dinged it myself on accident before. Its not anything major to worry about but it sucks when it happens.

There are 2 bolts behind the pulley that you need to remove. You will have to line up the 2 holes in the pulley in order to get to the bolts.

thats where im kinda stuck its tought to move the pully with belt on to line em up, but ima keep tryin (or just cut belt and buy a new one) thanks again for help.

You could cut it and buy a new one or you could try getting a screwdriver in there and use it to pry the pulley into a diferent position. But if you were already planning on buying a new one then just cut it.

You need to use a 19mm wrench or socket/ratchet on the PS pulley bolt to turn the pulley. Make sure to turn it in a clockwise direction only (so you don't accidentally loosen your crank pulley). This will allow you to line up the bolts on driver's side with holes in pulley.
Don't forget about the bolt on the passenger side of PS bracket as well. When it comes time to install, use a prybar between PS pump and engine block to achieve proper belt tension then tighten everything back up.

BTW, what part of Vegas are you in?

You can rotate the powersteering pulley/belt by turning the crankshaft sprocket in a clockwise direction until the holes in the pulley line up with the bolts. You access the crank pulley behind the driver's side tire through the splash shield.

To loosen the alternator belt, undo the locknut going in from the drivers side of the car towards the alternator, then loosen the adjusting screw that goes straight in towards the drivers seat. There is also a bolt that goes all the way through the bottom of the alt., that must be taken out to remove the alternator.

Were you able to get the belt off w/out cutting it?
I lived in SW Vegas for several years, on D.I. just west of Decatur. Miss the energy.:thumb:

Another thing to consider is investing in a haynes or Chilton manual. They are a great help, especially to the beginning wrencher. Once you've done a few removals/installs you'll have gained confidence and won't need it nearly as often but it will always be there when you need a certain Tq. spec.
