the car is my daily driver, and im partial to the lack of exhaust noise it makes. but the northen weather has basically destoryed the exhaust system (salt...). so its coming time to replace the workings. im sure that the stock exhaust is holding my car back quite abit as it is, and im sure with future modifications, this wont improve.

Effectively, i would like it to be as quiet or almost as quiet as stock. But im willing to trade some noise for more flow. Figuring that the weather eats anything that isnt actually SS, (low carbon or galvanized stuff wont last) that sorta reduces my options for mufflers. Anyone have opinions on any SS mufflers out there. I can read about them in Summit catalogs, but nothing beats personal experiences.

As for the outlet side of the exhaust, im not big on the megaphone of death look like the N1's and whatnot. So ill making some tip/ending muffler combo but that is a personal preference matter ill deal with myself.

The cataylic converter is in good shape. i have e-check here every two years, but ill use the stock one when i need to re-eheck, and replace with a pipe after echeck. Because the car is for offroad use only....or something like that. ;)

Also, the turbo of stockitude (T-25) will be replaced at the same time i do this, seeing ill have this car torn apart anyway. I will be using a small 16g. Now, given that, would a 2.5 inch exhaust be fine? The costs are less than anything in a 3" would be. Is the 1/2" difference worth the expense, of going to a 3" turbo back?

Ive heard an Apexi WS2 and they arent very loud. Also you can get and exhaust custom made, get a SS 2.5 inch with a highflow cat, and have them weld in 1 or 2 resonators, then use a muffler of your choice.

i actually planned on making myself. i have a chop saw, and a MIG. ill spot weld everything, then my friend will TIG everything for a little green. Im just curious about components.

Im actually poking at the idea of using some leftover V-bands i have for connecting the sections together. Would make minute changes in pipe alignment much easier.
