1)ok, just started today i noticed a little puddle of fast dripping oil under the driver side of the car. seems to be coming up higher than the oil pump. ( not sure if it matters, but I hear a slight tapping sound coming from the oil pan area or perhaps the oil pump. Goes away after a few seconds. Any suggestions?

2)also started to have oil leak around the turbo. actually right from where the clamp hold the housings together. (on the 14b). Didnt leak when I had the 10w30 I switched about a month or so ago to 5W30 mobil one.
any suggestion on this?

would it be bad turbo seals causing this?

Thats interesting. I figured running thicker oil would help. Also figured running thicker oil would be harder to leak.

Just seem weird all of a sutton it started to leak. anything on the timing belt side that could cause a leak like that?

Hmmm but wouldnt it start to leak a lot sooner than say a month later? heck it might even be 2 months since the oil was put in.

noticed the oil was on the valve cover right around where the timing belt cover is, especially on the last front valve cover.

the sound I hear is like a loose screw, very little higt pitched clicks.
Suggestions?

What on the timing belt side would cause such leak?

also, is there a gasket that goes between the turbo housings? (part that the clapm holds together?

Synthetic oil is neither thicker or thinner then conventional, it depends on viscosity. The common saying is that synthetic makes your car leak oil, which is true in a sense. If you have a somewhat aged car with nicely cracked gaskets, synthetic oil will soften them up and cause a leak :notgood:

There is a whole seal for that front case cover ( the right side of your engine if you are looking at it ) And the clicking you are hearing , you sure it is not just coming from the head -lifter tick ? -

Can you get pictures of where it is leaking? You cant switch from oils like you did , chances are most of your seals besides the head gasket are now in trouble .

You really should of looked up switching oils :( you can google switching to synthetic oil ) and just see the amounts of problems it causes if the car was broken in and ran for over 5k on standard
