Ok so I've herd of some people talking about shimming their wastegates to so that thier boost wont fall off. How do you do this and has anyone ever done this.

Put washers underneath the wastegate mounting bracket. It moves the wastegate further away which holds the flapper down tighter so it doesn't blow open at high boost. Not done in most cases because our wastegates don't have that problem. You're more likely to lose boost from the blow-off valve being forced open from high boost, which is why some folks modify it by 'crushing' it.

If you're not planning on going beyond 20 psi, then you don't need to do either modification.
