Ok I just got my 6bolt rebuilt again and it has 500 miles now and we've change the oil 3 times so far. Ok well for one my stock rpm tach hasnt been working since the engine swap ( but im using a 90s eprom ecu if that matters about the rpm )

For two , now my car is blowing oil out on acceleration and the faster I go the more it blows out and its blowing out and in the last 200miles Ive already put 1 and a half quarts of oil in it. Its blue smoke according to a friend and therefore I believe I have leaking turbo seals. Theres a guy across the street from my house who rebuilds turbos for semi trucks as a proffession but im wondering are turbo seals rebuildable/ replaceable ( because I didnt think they were. )
Now wondering how long do you think I can limp the car around with bad turbo seals ( while checking the car everytime I park, and not boosting. )
I dont have too much money right now and dont have money to buy a new turbo and am not sure my car is ready for putting a evo3 16g yet, but I know I need to fix this problem fast before I destroy my engine from it blowing all the oil out the exhaust.
Also what do you think couldve been the culprit, me breaking in the engine and not changing the oil enough, or too high of oil pressure ( no balance shafts, and if thats the case how much oil pressure normally blows turbo seals? )
According to my stock gauge at idle its at the middle line, and at anything over 4k its in between the middle line and second to last line before the H, and at wot its at the second to the last line... Is that too high?

Well the tach isnt working because you have the 90 ECU get a 91-94 and it will work, I am having the same problem your are, oil running out of the exhaust, alot of smoke under boost and my turbo was covered in oil. Is yours covered also? You can rebuild turbo's but im not sure about fixing the seal's when you do it, in my case im just going to buy a good condition used 14b, and if you buy an MBC you can run a 16g just keep the boost at a safe level.

The rebuild kit for a turbo comes with the new seals, bearings, and thrust plate. The only big thing about rebuilding a turbo is getting the wheels balanced. An unbalanced turbo will not last long.
As far as getting a 16G, don't use the MBC, use stock boost, until you get a bigger pump, AFPR, injectors, and something to tune with.

Take a look at your oil return line, make sure it's not kinked or clogged, that can make your turbo smoke as well. Did it smoke before you pulled the motor? If not, then that makes me wonder if something just isn't right from when you last installed the motor.

My point for having the MBC was to keep the boost down, not turn it up until he gets the supporting mods.

Yea im probably getting a mbc soon anyways even though I hear they spike really bad.

I think my turbo went bad the first time I rebuilt the 6bolt because it hasd low oil pressure which 80 miles later resulted to rod knock ( but i didnt know it had low oil pressure because my gauge was broke at the time. )
Im thinking during the time it had low oil pressure the turbo went bad, but then again you would think that would affect the turbo bearings not the seals. Unless the high ( balance shaftless ) oil pressure it currently has blew the seals?
I may check into a rebuild ( which I can get done for just a little under 100 from a guy I know who rebuilds semi truck turbos for a living ) Id eventually get a evo3 on there or a 50 trim within the next 6 months so thats all Id need the rebuild turbo to last for.
My car is blowing a lot of oil out the exhaust under boost so im driving it really slow not boosting it and checking the oil everytime I stop.
I had a little blow by before but nothing like this, I think this turbo failure is recent since that turbo is fairly new. Could have to do with me breaking in the engine on it twice.

The reason Im running a 90s ecu is for the eprom it has, its the only one I can find, and im running a chipped ecu so thats why I didnt want to swap back to 91-94 ecu. Is there another fix for my rpm tach using that ecu?

How much is a turbo rebuild kit ? And where to get it?

When my turbo went, when I got done driving there would be oil splatter all over the back of my car. It wasnt good at all.

Well because there was so much oil coming out of the exhaust from the turbo seals, I guess the exhaust gas would make it splatter on the back of my car, it did it the worse when I drove up the mountain (I live in WV lots of BIG MTNS) or put a load on the engine.
The oil would be accumulated so bad on the plate it would look black with oil, I also had to put oil in my car frequently.

It sounds like our cars are doing the same exact things I was also running an open dp too well not by choice it broke at the flex section so under my car was covered with oil too, I thought I had a major oil leak but then you just reminded me why it was coverd with oil.

P.S I had a full exhaust on it while my turbo was blown so thats how oil got on the back of my car but my flex section broke just to clear that up for you if im confusing you in any way.

Well im on the search for a used 14b of the classifieds on here or off of DSM source when I get it im going to port it, use it for it awhile then upgrade when I have enough money.
