I am in the process of building up my 2g DSM. When I bought the car it had a 6bolt engine with a 2g head and intake manifold. I wanted a 1g head for better flow. So I went on ebay to find a good working head, from a good seller. I found this deal where I got a rebuilt head and a port job. Please see the attached pics. All the parts should be stock. I am planning to change out the springs, valves, & cams in the future. The $600 included the head with the new componets, shipping, and core fee, since I only had a 2g head.

So was this head worth $600?

In my opinion no. You can buy freshly rebuilt heads off there for around $250. SBR sells a head for $600 with a $125 return for any core for a stock rebuilt 1g head. Porting shouldn't cost more than $100.

I myself, would not be happy with the porting they did. The most important part to do, they didn't even touch. 90% of the flow you pick up from porting is from the pocket area directly behind the valve. Smoothing out the area from the valve seat to the guide and the short side radius is where they should have concentrated. These are the places they completely avoided. The work they did will have very little affect on power production. Also for $600 I would be very upset to see the valves covered in carbon like that. Did they even install new guides? If it was me, they would be getting that head back.

Id say you overpayed alot.......Most of the time you can get a full 6bolt motor for around $600.00. Plus I wouldnt trust an ebay company doing port work on a crutial part of the motor
