I just picked up a Fidanza flywheel for a good price. I heard that a lighter flywheel will help me bring up my revs faster, and also help me with turbo spool. But at the same time I have also heard that Fidanza Flywheels warp under heating conditions ( because they are made of 1/2 aluminum. ) Plus the RPM's drop too fast and make them not good for drag race car. If anyone runs a lightened flywheel for drag racing please let me know how you like/dislike it. If anyone has ran a Fidanza flywheel for a long time have to felt "chatter" or warpage on the flywheel?

I have a fidanza in my car, been sitting in there for about 2 years now and have had no issues with it. I take it to the drag strip on occasional and don't really notice any ill side effects from either daily driving or drag racing. It does seem to help me maintain rpms at launch though.

I've been running one for the past 3 years. I've never experienced chatter or warpage. (in fact; I just pulled the flywheel a couple weeks ago and it looks so good, I plan to sell it so the next person can enjoy it.) FYI: The friction surface on the flywheel is steel, so it's no just a 1/2" piece of aluminum. The RPM's do drop quicker, but most people enjoy that benefit - it makes for quicker shifting. For drag racing, many people use NLTS, so flywheel mass would not affect shifting. If you aren't using NLTS, you still get a quicker and cleaner shift with less flywheel mass. I have yet to experience a negative side affects from running a lightweight flywheel.

I got the fidanza flywheel and its does help it rev quicker, and yes the rpm drops faster but I have stutterbox so doesnt matter if your trying to launch it. I have heard bad stories though about them coming loose or warping, hope doesnt happen to me.
It is a little harder to drive in bumper to bumper traffic, ive stalled a few times because of it, but overall if your trying to scavenge every bit of performance out of his car id say go for it.
