you're not a guinea pig bro. plenty of guinea pigs have been lossed before.

With the prices of the real 16g or the tc.com gt being as low as they are now why wouldn't you just go with one of those?

That isn't an MHI. The oil line looks like plastic in the pic...probably just me.

It's not just you.

I am a huge fan of ebay parts as a way to save money, however with a part as important as your turbo you should go with something you know and trust. If you are willing to test out the part and deal with the reprocussions then great. It could be a great turbo for a great deal, or you could ruin your engine.

My .02, go with the name brand, it is well known and trusted for a reason.

I'm willing to give it a try....the guy has 99% feedback.........if it blows to bits..i will let everyone know.............

Feedback dont madder. Usually people leave it before testing the turbo. And when they do get there negatives and to many they make a new name. Thats why all these ebay companys have like three different names.

While I agree that I personally would not buy this turbo, other people will (whether they admit it or not). Otherwise you wouldn't find them for sale. With that said, I can remember when I was in school or fresh out trying to mod a car. Obviously the budget was tight and I bought what I could afford. Sometimes it worked great, other times it blew up.

I'm reminded of a post I read here comparing turbos from E-Bay through top shops to cars (Geo, KIA, Toyota). It's really about what the market can support. If you don't have a big budget you might go with an E-Bay turbo and do fine, or not. If you have more money you buy a little better setup related to what you can afford.

In short, you do get what you pay for, but what if that's what you want? When I was younger (broke) I've purchased several POS cars that I knew wouldn't last long, but I knew they would last long enough. I did get what I paid for (a POS), but at the time it was what I wanted (could afford).

If people don't buy something, it will no longer be sold.

I'm just curious to see if they are as bad as everyone says.......trying to put a myth to rest...if so i will eat a big heaping plate of crow myself.....$700 verus $400 = $300 savings = more money for other parts.....

i've seen some terrible shit out of some of these. people sending me e-mails too asking for help. not much you can do after it happens and they have run it. I know TC.com has a great deal going on their GT's. I have used them and trust them, SBR and FP also have deals going on them too.

Wow, it's not everyday you see a vendor supporting other vendors.

JW, in reference to tc.com, have you used one of their turbos?

Edit: Sorry didn't mean to change the thread
