I have a 1g, and I curently installed a bomz underdrive crank pullet, and now i need to get new belts. I have read before and someone had listed part numbers for the belts and now i cant find the post. I would want to get belts for about a 20% underdrive. I also read that one guy had slop with his bomz pulley; mine was easy to install and so far no issues. The real test is when the car is up and running and i get on it. Any suggestions would be muchly appreciated. Thank you.

I had one installed and then removed it. I had a problem with the hole in the pulley and the alignment pin on the crank, so I had to drill the pulley to allow it to seat correctly. I could possibly get you the alternator/water pump belt number tommorow when I go to my shop, if I can find it.

What I did was buy 3 or four belts all slightly smaller than the previous one according to the Gates book. All the belt numbers that came with the pulley did not fit. Then I just returned the ones that didn't fit, I would make sure you can return the belts first, the local shop around here knows me pretty well.

I will try and get that belt number tommorow.

That would be great, i also know the local part store people and i could get away with murder. let me know thank you.

I apoligize for the lateness of my post, I completly forgot that I was going on vacation to Florida and didn't have time to get to my shop until I got back.

The belt that I used on my Bomz underdrive pulley was a Gates: K040385 4PK979 This is the Alt-crank-water pump belt only.

Alot of people don't like the use of these for daily drivers but what about pure trackcars and weekend toys? They aren't going to be used much and the damage won't be as harsh correct? I am looking at doing this for my 1g I just purchased.

Actually, the higher the HP, the more benefit a decent HD will give. With it so friggin easy to get 10-15HP outta our turbo cars by increasing boost 1psi, why would you want to risk a $2K+ engine with a non-dampened pulley

Yes, stock ones can separate over time, so whenever doing a t-belt change / pullign the engine, definitely check it's condition and replace if questionable :dsm:
