I am fairly new to turbos in these cars. I was never planning on turboing his car until I read up on the power increases to be gained from doing it properly and reinforcing the engine prior to the conversion. I have searched the site and found reviews for these turbos, but nothing specifically to how they would act, and what it would require to use them in a NT 1G. My car is not legal for the street for another 2-3 months and in this time I will be reinforcing the engine with new pistons, rings, camshafts, and a MLS head gasket. All this and I will be upgrading the fuel rail, injectors, pretty much the enitre fuel system. Considering how little experience I have with turbos, I just wanted some input on these turbos and what else to do in preparation for the add on.

Thanks!~

Well, I'd go with some kind of 16g. I don't even know if a 15g would fit on a manifold for the 4g63. Turbo choices have a lot to do with what plans you have for your car. There's 3 different kinds of 16g's, and they're all for different kinds of power. Just look at the different Mitsu turbos on www.slowboyracing.com and see which one fits your budget and makes the kind of power you want. I don't know too much about the n/t 4g63, but if it doesn't already have the same crank and connecting rods as the turbo version, I'd look into that too. A lot of people will tell you that buying a turbocharged DSM is a lot easier than the swap, but to each his own. :dsm:

I have done the swap. Really nothing to it.....just some extra wiring and piping besides the bolt on stuff. The rods and crank are the same from what i could tell. Your piston and injector choice will give us a better idea of what turbo you should go with. Are they oem cast turbo pistons, or aftermarket forged? What size injectors are you getting? If stock pistons and 450 injectors, i'd say go with a small 16g. If forged pistons and larger than 550 injectors, i would go with the evo 3. Just my 2 pennies.

Good luck on whatever you choose.

Well... I'm still new to most of this, but I was planning on going 550 with forged pistons. If that sounds like a good idea anyways.
