In an attempt to seal up the horrible welds on my intercooler piping I took each piece off and pressure tested it, welding where it leaked. One of the leaks was where I attached the BOV flange. (obviously the valve was on for testing) I was short on time and did not remove the BOV to do the welding. The poor thing was exposed to a lot of heat. Now when pressure testing my system the BOV leaks even at low psi. I crushed it a small amount to no avail.
So the question is this: Are there any internal components that would be damaged by high heat (plastic, rubber, weak spring, etc...)? Will crushing help or should I just buy a new one.
The urgent part to this equation is several people are counting on me driving for a summer vacation tomorrow morning.
