Alternator Belts

My alternator belts keep getting tore up. I replaced it 3 times and the last one is not even on there anymore. Whats causing this.

Check the crank pulley. When the rubber breaks down it allows the pulley to wobble around causing it to shred/throw belts.

Does it squeak during start-up or at all?

Yes it does but I just replaced the crank pulley not to long ago.

make sure the alternator pulley is not moving, make sure the water pump pulley isnt moving (ie. lose bolts or the actual water pump shaft is messed up). Other than that...make sure nothing is hitting the belt.

One of those should fix the problem.

check the water pump pulley out...ive seen alot of people put them on backwards after they do a waterpump...also seen alot just be bent enough to do this, dont know why but check that out
