I am trying to locate the stock unit and I know that it is on the back of the block on the driver's side and I know that it has a big green plug on it. I just can't seem to find it. I have all the fittings for my new autometer unit as pointed out in this thread:

Is it maybe because my talon was produced in aug 94 and has a couple of things different with it?

Someone please steer me in the right direction so I can get this thing done.

Thanks for your time.

I've never messed with a 420a powered Talon but I had a Neon for several years and the motors are the same. If it's anything like a Neon the sending does nothing but control the low oil light. The sending unit looks exactly the same as a Neon one going by the pics in the thread you posted so I'm assuming it's the same way in a Talon. You can clearly see the the stock sending unit in the pic in the other thread just look for that. It can be a pain to find but it's there. What I did with my Neon was remove the stock unit completely and remote mounted the Autometer unit using there relocation kit. That big unit and all the adapters hanging off the engine will cause problems. Over time it will leak or stop working due to the engine vibrations. The kit I bought was just a braided line that screwed into the stock hole in the block and then I mounted the sending unit by the inner fender. I never got a CEL from not having the stock unit in place but a Talon might be different. Hope this helps some.

Ok thanks for the info but I found it. It must be different in the earlier models because mine was just a plain black connector, not a green one. Thanks for the info, I also have a 96 neon that has the same block so I know what you are talking about.

Now I just have to run the wires through the dash.
