Ok so i just had an UIP (Dave Brode) installed last week. The next day, i notice that when i press the clutch in, the clutch makes a click sound that i can hear and i can feel in my left foot as it happens. Also, when i release the clutch, i hear a similar sound that i can't feel as much but can still definately hear it. Now although i don't see how installing a part such as an UIP could cause something like this, i wonder what is causing it to happen. What is this sound that has started all of a sudden, EVERYTIME i press the clutch? Any thoughts?? Could it be a bearing or something in the pedal itself that has come lose in which i can tighten myself??

If installed correctly there shouldn't be anything that would cause this. However, that doesn't mean that something isn't loose, moved, or otherwise hitting. I would have to ASSUME that it's something in the engine bay and the "feel" is traveling through the cable-pedal-to your foot.

Just double check your work with attention to the shift cable and arms coming out of the tranny.

Is the noise coming from inside or outside?

The 2G clutch pedal is a solid unit and doesn't suffer from the wear problems like the 1G pedal does. I'd bet it's the return assist spring moving, mine does this too and I've just learned to live with it. If however you are also having engagement issues there may be an actual problem.

no engagement issues, just the clicking sound coming from the clutch pedal itself when pressing down, and releasing (not as much when releasing). I might add that the sound is coming directly from the pedal itself, and i feel the click too coming right from the pedal at the top of it where it pivots (pushing in and releasing pivot point).

it could be, but how would i know? Is there something to look for behind the pedal, up and behind the clutching area, a loose engagement switch perhaps?
