GVR-4 2g MAF wiring

OK i wired up my 2g MAF today, but now my cars running weird, i installed 550cc injectors with it though,. On the wireup i was confused there is one wire on each harness that doesnt match eachother what do i do with those? I put them together but wasnt http://vfaq.com/mods/2GMAF-1G.htmlsure

What maf harness did you use? Did you use the 2g harness or the 1g power transistor harness?

The VFAQ author is confused. The wires in question are both the MAF reset signal from the ECU to the MAF. Most people seem to have problems keeping which end of a connector is which straight and wind up miswiring them.

The diagram works, I wired mine up that way and so have many others. I don't think Steve is saying the diagram is incorrect, just that the author mislabeled the maf resest signal on the 1g maf sensor diagram.

Just go over your wiring and double check that you have everything in the correct place. The diagrams are from the back of the plug, a lot of people get confused and look at the front of the plug. Are you getting a CEL?

my check engine light came on
so does wire 1 on 1g go with wire 7 on 2g?

Yes, pin 1 on the 1G connector goes to pin 7 on the 2G MAF connector just like the chart shows but I don't think that's why you have a CEL. I'm betting the others wires are misconnected.

Here's my list.

Pin 1 on the 2G connector goes to the green/red wire that was pin 4 on the 1G harness.
Pin 2 on the 2G connector goes to the green/yellow wire that was pin 7 on the 1G harness.
Pin 3 on the 2G connector goes to the green/blue wire that was pin 2 on the 1G harness.
Pin 4 on the 2G connector goes to the red wire that was pin 3 on the 1G harness.
Pin 5 on the 2G connector goes to the green/black wire that was pin 6 on the 1G harness.
Pin 6 on the 2G connector goes to the green/orange wire that was pin 8 on the 1G harness.
Pin 7 on the 2G connector goes to the green/white wire that was pin 1 on the 1G harness.
Pin 8 on the 2G connector has nothing.

How are you making the connection?
A pigtail like shown, adding the 2G connector in parallel like Andy or cut off the 1G and add the 2G?
Which way are you using?

Im using the mystery connector, but ive tried it 2 times and double checked the wires, and still light comes on, so i put the 1g back on . I might have a bad 2g MAF or something. No since i switched back my car wont start??

There ya go, now all you need are some clippers! Make sure you take your time, If I were you I would do one wire at a time!! good luck!


1g Mas wire New Wires

Orange/Green ---> Red/black
Yelloq/Green ---> Pink
Black/Green ---> Black
Red/Green ---> Grey
Red ---> Red
Green ---> White/Black
White/Green ----> Blue

andytalon do you know how to hard wire the 1g transister plug to the 1g mas for the 2g mas i have 4 yellow wires 2 black wires and one white wire they have different colored strips going down them if you could tell me how to do it like you explained above that would help lots thanks
