which notch to set base timing

Setting the base timing of a 1g.
I am suppose to set it at 5*, but I don't know which notch I should set it at.

There are a couple of sites that will help you. You can go to www.vfaq.com and you will be able to find visual descriptions and a step by step guide. I own a 2G so i dont know if its the same but 1G guys that are here will be able to further assist you.:thumb:
 
I have been to those sites and I found 2 articles that talk about setting the base timing, I have the Hanes manual, and I have talked to people with dsm's. I have still not gotten a clear answer.
After reading the articles it is still not clear and people I talk to tell me 2 different things.
