great sounding exhaust that isn't loud???

ok here's my problem, almost all the dsm's around here have a harsh sounding exhaust,i don't want anything like that on my car. my brother has a s2000 and he went with mugan and its the best sounding exhaust i have heard on a honda period, but its pricey,i was wondering do we have anything close to making our cars sound beautiful, without braking m neibors window from being so loud? i don't mind spending a lot of money on it..........

I ran a VRS on my fwd 1g and it was very deep and growly.. On my Gsx i run a Apexi Ni. and i like it even better.

I love my HKS, its not that loud for a 3" turboback w/no resonators.

Though with the CAT and the silencer tip ON sounds even nicer and rather quiet, of course like any other exhaust the more restrictive the nicer it sounds... when you run an otherwise open exhaust its gonna be loud. by that I mean piping and muffler only, w/no CAT, Resonator, Silencer and 2.5" or bigger diameter in piping.

I custom made mine, but if you're looking to purchase one for your vehicle, they usually come with resonator and with a "street legal" decibel level, unless you buy from RNR Racing who builds their exhausts with no restrictions. But something like Mugen, Greddy, HKS, 5Zigen, Tsudo, etc have a resonator on them. thus are quiet/great sounding enough for the streets.

Agreed, I have evo III stage 2 ported exhaust manifold, feeding an evoIII big 16G ported and clipped which gracefully leads to a stainless steel o2 sensor housing w/ dump tube, and 3 inch turbo back N1. It's great man. I like the sound of the N1 a lot. Sounds good while accelerating, but at cruise or idle she is pretty quiet.

I have a gutted cat and an APC Carbon Fiber Muffler and it sounds pretty good and kinda cheap. Still doesnt piss off neighbors

I have a ractive header, 3" pipe into a ractive muffler, with a 4" tip. Has a nice deep, mellow sound to it at idle and low rpm's. It doesn't really get loud until you hit about 6,000. It's fairly cheap, and I've felt some good power gains from my lil 420a.

Pacesetter catback sounds nice. Real low sound like a 3g, even with no cat on a turboback system. It's 2.5"

yeah i thought that would be the answer i have a 3"megan racing downpipe(which deletes the cat) and then had a 3" exhaust made with a ghey ass ebay dragger muffler(sounds like shit). so im looking for at least a that will quiet the noise down and look somewhat stock looking. . as close as i can get i guess. . thanks

Turbo exhaust systems are not loud. The turbine smoothes out exhaust pulses. It's non turbo exhaust that are loud and sometime give that buzzing sound.

as right now the car isnt running but . . when im at full boost on the highway the car sounds like a HONDA on steriods. . . talk about a ricey exhaust. . . . eh. it needs to be changed. . i hate it ( just looking for some help with a custom made exhaust. . . for a muffler)

I have a Thermal R&D 3" straight back from the turbo opening to 4.5 in. at the tip. It sounds great. It's not loud like a ricer but deep because of the turbo. I wouldn't trade it in for any exhaust.

i got a stock exaust without a cat and i put a high flow muffler dont even remember what they said it was think it was something related to flo pro and my exaust sounds awsome, nice deep tone, that isnt that loud.

well right now i got a dragger muffler(turbo240sx, so it said) from off ebay. . i hate it. . i was thinking of getting a magnaflow muffler. do i just need the muffler or a tip also?

greddy's are pretty quiet sence they come with 2 resonators installed.
its a nice low growl w/o alot of noise. they are sorta pricey tho'
