Hi,

can anyone tell me, what this is?
I want to buy some new brake disc from Powerslot.
They all descibe that:

Rear Left Fitment
Note: (Left Rear) Slotted solid rotor. For models after 10/94.

What does solid rear rotor mean?
Not vented?
How can I check that?

Thanks

"Vented" are like the fronts, with fins in the center of the disk. It's fairly rare- some story about the 3000GT rear discs getting used on the Eclipse(etc) when they weren't really supposed to or something.
Look at your front discs and see if they match the rears.

Ok, checked it.
I have also fins in the center of the rear disk.
Also the rear brake disc looks quite the same size like the front.

So, if I want to change all four discs into some Powerslot, I have to order 2 vented front discs and I just have to mount these at the rear?

thanks

Mike

you need to get the powerslots for your model year. the fronts are going to be the same as all other years, but the rears are different. you may have a hard time finding the rear powerslots.

I just recently purchased a set of powerslot rotors for the rear of my early 95 awd talon. I had the same problem. The new powerslot rotors were only 10.25 solid discs and my factory discs are 11.25. After a few days of phone calls back and forth i received good news. Powerslot does not make a replacement rotor for the 11.25 vented rear discs. But a company they deal with does. The website is Centric Products Page

After a few debates with the company centric parts. They have stopped production on the slotted rotors for the 2gen dsm's with a build date prior to 10/94..... In order to update your rear brake setup to accept the 11/94 to 99 rear brakes you will need the following.

- Both left and right rear brake calipers from a 96 - 99 Eclipse/Talon

- Both left and right rear brake caliper brackets from a 96 - 99 Eclipse/Talon

If you buy the calipers new they should come with new slides/rubber boots and pad shims for the bracket.

Just swap the 96-99 parts for the parts made prior to 10/94. PM me if anyone has any questions.
