How accurate is the SAFC for O2 trims. I just bought a 3in MAF and MAFT, and just wanted to know if I could tune it "half assed" until I get enough cash to buy dsmlink or something like it.

What is the "blue wire mod"?
It's when you attach the SAFC blue wire to the O2 wire going to the ECU so that the SAFC can measure the voltage.
Since the SAFC doesn't have a very high input impedance and neither does the ECU the voltage from the O2 sensor gets shared between the two and reads lower to both than it would if the SAFC wasn't connected. The SAFC is accurate in it's measurment but loads the O2 sensor down and that's why it's considered a bad idea.

So would it be alright to tune with the MAFT and SAFC for now? Or would you recommend waiting until I can get DSM link???

I already have the MAFT and the blow-tru setup... I just want to get my car running decent. Since tuning with the MAFT is "half assed tuning" and i have NO logger of any sort. Just want to know if the SAFC will get me going for awhile.

It may be "half-assed" to tune with the MAFT but I wouldn't go invest in a SAFC if you don't have it.

Since you don't list upgraded injectors or turbo in your profile there isn't a whole lot of tuning to be done. Your just going to want to lean it out a bit up top. Save your money for the link.
