Local DSMer's I Need Help

Ok I live in Southern NH and something has happened to my car.... My dad backed it out of the driveway to move it so he could leave, he parked it on the road and it stalled from a rough idle, he then tried to turn it on and it would just weouldnt turn on, not the dead battery sound "tick tick" but the engine like couldnt turn over. I then took it to my mechanic when he said that one of my pulley's from the timing system is bent backwards or something (getting a full report of what they found Mon.) And that the whole timing system needed to be replaced ($800+) then he said thats just the beginning it might have done internal damage (interference engine) but he did a compression test and only 2 of the cylinders were like 40 below the otherr(that isnt horrible right?) So I said well i dont have them money right now. also this mechanic isnt known for ripping people off he is very reliable and our family has been going to him for years, but I dont know if he has ever worked on these cars, so I looked at it myself,(no pro BUT) the belt was tight and the teeth on it were good So i didnt think that needed to be replace and all the cranks with the pulleys seemed to be in the right spot.............SOOOOOOOO

I wanted to see if there was anyone in the Southern NH area (Derry) that could swing by to clear this up so that I don't trash this car and it be like the injectors, fuel pump, or like starter Thank you so much!!!!

If it won't turn over, how did he do a comp check?

Anyway, you best bet is to hop on NewEngDSM.org. They have members that are close to you. You will also need a bit more info than something is 'bent" in the timing.
