Sup guys, this may be a stupid question but like i've said before.. Im new to the DSM world... k, here we go..

How can you tell if you have a 6 bolt or 7 bolt engine?.

You have a seven bolt unless the previous owner did a 6-bolt swap.

Cool ill take a look at that tomorrow morning, since I'm doing the oil change....which brings me to another question... I asked for the k&n oil filter but the one on the car now seems bigger than the one they gave me... (Part number#H1010) AFTER DOING recearch I may have have a 1G filter ### it seems to be bigger.... Is that another sing I may have a 6 bolt??? And by the way which k&n filter should be the correct one?

1g/2g/6-bolt/7-bolt oil filters all can be used interchangeably. The only differences are in the outer shell size. Which you use depends on which one will fit with whatever setup you've got. In theory, the biggest filter you can comfortably fit is the best.
