will a door from a 1999 eclipse RS fit my 1999 spyder?

every body shop and auto parts store including the mitsubishi dealership tells me that it will not fit.

I have measured the door in every way I can think of and it is exactly the same.

even the door cladding from a coupe fits my spyder perfectly.

can anyone think of another reason that this may not fit before I attempt to make the switch?

Thanks

yes any door will fit i put a door off a 97 gs on my 98 spyder didnt have a problem but if its the drivers door you just have to switch wiring harnesses due to the rear window switches

Ok this has officially been completed. I can 100% honestly say that the door from my 99 coupe fit my 99 Spyder. Thank you to the guys who told me it was possible. And in your face to all the people, body shops, mechanics, junkyards and dealerships that said it wouldn't fit. And in case anyone is wanting to try this for themselves, just keep in mind that not only the wiring harness needs changed, but if your stealing a door with a manual window, you will need to switch over your power motor and your locking mechanism so your key fits. And yes, the coupe windows line up with the spyder top and seals.

This info has been so hard to find on the web. So if this post helps even one other person who is in this situation, I will be happy. Best of luck on the swap.
