I haven't even heard of a mention of Jackal or DSM-map for a long while now...
What's up with said dispute?

I'm just at a lose that one person can feel the need to shut down a whole website over some differences. Either way this is a low blow to everyone on there that has followed ds-map.
Unfortunately, that was heavily due to the tactless approach that the management of that project took to advertise the project. Respectfully, it was was mismanaged from the start. It's a shame too, because the product looks adequate. At one point (long ago), I had every intention of running it on my 1G.Thats because its not talked about much on tuners anymore. But it is a great setup for us 1g guys.
It's the same in the DSM world too.
There was never an issue with the product itself. Just the leaders promoting it.
That's one reason why I'm not surprised to see issues with leadership again.
. So what does this mean: "No other vendors threads allow competitors to post and criticize their products."?Guys, feel free to start a tech thread here in the tech section. Many DS-map users lurk this site, so I'm sure one of them will chime in and help.

I was wondering the same thing. I had to reformat my laptop and lost all the map software. Ofcourse i never back anything up either. Is it possible for someone to host/share it?
On another note i was pretty disappointed in the way this site allowed Jackal's threads to be filled with nonsense and arguments started from competitors(Link). No other vendors threads allow competitors to post and criticize their products. A free product as great as what dsmap is/was offering should have been praised by the dsm community, not been forced underground so to speak.
Im not sure why this site is so pro link and anti jackal but it is very disappointing. Those guys are amazing, the data logging cable they recently created is really unmatched by anything else available. Beside the fact they were offering a superior product(speed density) compared to those awful sliders. Its really a shame. They put in alot of work to aid the dsm community in a way no other vendor ever has, and they dont get the respect they deserve. In my eyes it hurts the credibility of dsmtuners as a whole.
I'd link you to the ds-map thread with his tin-foil hat rantings about our site (reflective of how he acted here), but the site seems to be down.He was never a vendor. So what does this mean: "No other vendors threads allow competitors to post and criticize their products."?
And for some reason, I feel that Hak will get strangely upset and rise to arms if this happens. . . He can't delete posts made by others
But yes, it looks like a fine product. Keeping data about it flowing on the web would be a good thing.
I want to see this turn into another us vs them thread. I just want to keep this alive so people just starting or about to start using Jackal don't have start all over again and find a different EMS.

Anyone who wants to discuss this project with other users of the software can do so in our Tuning forum. We'll have the mods watch over the arguments that have plagued past discussions.
