i have a perfect condition all wheel drive 95 gsx that i have in the classifieds for sale. it is a turn key car, and i wouldn't be afraid to drive it anywhere.
another member has a 92 dodge stealth r/t twin turbo that at least needs 1 head. he said that it jumped timing, and hears something making noise. he redid the timing just to get it running, but the noise is still there.
he wants to trade even up for my ride. i dont know what to think. he told me that to do the heads, you have to pull the engine out.
i know my car is worh at least 5,000 the way it is, and a little more if used as a trade to another private party. he says that if the heads were fixed, his would be woth 8,000. i went on ebay to see what they are going for and i see anywhere between 3-5,000. his car is pretty clean on the outside, but the interior shows its age( dash, driver seat>>.......)
so i figured i would ask you people for some input. thanks in advanced

i would have to say dont. if it doesnt seem like a fair trade to you then dont. also why trade a perfect running car for something that needs some work to get on the road? thats just my opinion but id just keep the Eclipse. or trade for something better

well, i completely redid this car i got, and would like to move onto something else. but i was orig trying to sell for cash outright, but i wouldn't mind a cash and another car in on trade so i have something to work on

You want to take a turn-key AWD and trade it for a car that may need a motor? It's a common problem to get all worked up over possibly owning a car that you really like or maybe always wanted, but look at the big picture here. I think it would be the biggest mistake of your life. Instead of selling your car and making possibly $5000, you want to do an even-trade for a car that is going to need probably that much or more to make it a turn-key like you have now.

That sounds really stupid.

Agreed. You're going to trade a perfectly capable and well maintained 2G AWD for a broken RTTT? That's not a smart idea.

I'm not really biased either because I owned and was very involved in the 3s community before coming to DSMs. Even if the RTTT was running, it would be a fair trade at best.

yea, i see what you and the others are saying, but i figured that as of today, my car is worth more than his, but the way the guy says it, he SEEMED sincere that his car is worth as much. also, i have no prior knoledge of the rttt, so i wanted to post here for some info. thanks guys for all the help. i'll either sell mine outright, or just keep it for now
