what are your guys opinions on swapping a 4 bolt rear in, on a FWD ?

screw you ass ####, i havent researched much on suspension things and i just wanted to know all the hell you had to do was say yes or no.

I think you posted this as a joke.

Ok I read up on it a little, it's a great idea. Sorry for my earlier post, you obviously know what your talking about. Go for it.

It's like asking if you could get equal-length half shafts on the front of a Trans Am (btw, those are RWD cars)...

ok, i'm not going to be a dick. but i will say i can sorta understand why he thought this post was a joke... anyway typically when you hear someone refer to an x-bolt rear... that is referring to the rear differential, which is what is responsible for turning the rear wheels via the driveshaft..... however on your car you will not find a rear differential, or driveshaft, or transfer case because your car is not rear wheel drive (or in the dsm case, AWD) therefore you have no rear to swap with, nor do you have the need for one...... unless you are talking about doing an AWD drive conversion

True Eric, dont worry about a 4 Bolt rear, dont worry about stripping your rear, dont worry about your X case going out, and dont worry about drivetrain loss because you dont have those problems to worry about :thumb:

Would bigger cams make my RX7 faster? And how much should I gap the spark plugs in my diesel trucks motor? :D OK, I think thats the last we will see of this guy. It might be billismyname now.

naw i aint gonna change my name, sorry for not being such a car nut as you guys, i dont spend forever researching cars on the net, and i thought itd be easier just to ask, if i knew u were gonna flip on me i wouldnt have said anything.

Well at least the new guy has balls. I guess I gotta stop ripping on him now, dammit.

Eric.

You dont NEED to be an internet junky in order to gain knowledge, you just HAVE to know where to look.
Like explained earlier, a 3/4 bolt rear is SOLELY for RWD, AWD cars [which you dont have]
Sorry to see those answers rubbed you the wrong way but knowing your FWD doesnt need a 4 bolt rear is DSM101.

Take a look at www.dsm.org It's the premier site for DSM's. You NEED to start there and do some research on your own. ANY QUESTION that you might have in regards to your car can more than likley be found there.
Go to the FAQ section. They Have the 1G/2G/GVR4's pulled apart in sections, so finding just the info you'll need is easy.

Take Care

Massive amounts of flamage here. Hell I don't even think it would not get it even if it was posted in the newb section.

You do not have to reserch long nor be a car junkie to know that a 4 bolt rear is useless in a FWD car.
