Hey guys, I'm totally new to the whole suspension aspect of things in these cars. but the talon i am picking up has 2 blown front struts, so i figured i might as well take the opportunity to give my DD a nice set of struts and springs. i want to keep the car at the height it is, which is a 2.5 inch drop all around. and the suspension needs to be fairly stiff, as the roads around here totally suck! I'm not on a crazy tight budget. but don't want to break the bank on this. i would like to spend somewhere around 1k if possible. if not a little more is okay.

thanks in advance guys!

Konis, but the car is never going to work well on those springs (which are probably something like Sportlines). If you insist on an over-lowered car, have the Konis shortened by an inch before installing them.

what exactly do you mean by "the car will never work on those springs"?

You are too low. You don't have any front suspension travel and your front roll center is somewhere in China. The car will handle and ride like crap.

should i bring it up some then??? i know my GSX has a 2 inch drops, and handles good?

What you thought you knew you may have to un-know.

Once the the lateral control arms become parallel or beyond from lowering you've lowered your car too far for any semblance of handling. Thus the China remark.
Lowering by an inch, and not much more, is about the reasonable limit for a ride height that still allows the suspension to perform its task.

You can easily get yourself running on koni's + gc's (or maybe H&R OE Sports?) for around a grand. Maybe save a few pennies on the side to do some bushings while you're in there?
