Cobra rotors on a DSM question

DSM is 67.1mm and I believe Mustang is 70.5mm. I use the centering ring but I don't know if it's an absolute necessity.

I have the Baer Track kit. But I'd almost guarantee they use the Mustang bore size. I would try to get the rings direct from Baer.

My first set of rings were from BAER, but I had a second set built on a lathe by a local. I would consider the centering rings a necessity. The Cobra has larger wheel studs than a DSM so they don't work well to center the rotor at all.

Yea, I just got into working on the car today. Centering the rotor is a must. That was not really discussed in all other posts. The cobra rotor stud holes are a little over 15mm and the DSM stud is a little under 13mm. Then there is 1.5 mm gap from the hub to the rotor. I really do not like all the slack of each stud being so small compared to the stud hole in the rotor. I may look for a way to center the rotor to the studs. That will center the rotor but it will also be better on the studs by increasing the contact area from the rotor to the stud. I know this is probably over kill but that is how I think.:ohdamn:

^ Yes, but those are for wheels. It might be difficult to find the size he needs for the rotors unless they make any size you want. Also, I haven't had my rotors off in a while so I don't remember if they have the taper like they do for the ones designed for wheels.

Ahh, I just got to thinking...I bet my wheels wouldn't clear the caliper. I'm running 17x7 MB Weapons. I am unsure of the offset. Maybe when you get this done HIGHPSI you can sell me your 2-piston fronts... LOL

I've recently researched this as i'm fixing to do the VR4 calipers w/ cobra rotors as well

The Baer part # for the hub centric rings is 6260127, $12 each

Has there been any update on this HIGHPSI4? I would also like to know if VR4 calipers would possibly clear my wheels. 17x7 MB Weapon (unsure of the offset but I believe it is 43).

I posted a rotor install thread. You will need spacers. Your wheels should clear but you will have to try the wheel to make sure. My EVO wheels just do clear the rotor by a half inch.
